PulseAI released its latest attendee-matching algorithm on July 5, allowing users to input skills and goals before events so the system suggests one-on-one conversations during sessions.
The timing aligns with Austin tech firms expanding hybrid work policies after last year's 18 percent drop in in-person attendance at industry gatherings tracked by the Austin Chamber of Commerce.
Organizers held the first test run at Capital Factory on Congress Avenue, where 210 engineers and product managers used the app to schedule 15-minute chats over coffee in the sixth-floor lounge.
A follow-up session took place at the IC2 Institute on Guadalupe Street, pairing founders with investors from two local venture funds.
Company records show the platform logged 1,240 successful matches in its opening month, with each in-person ticket set at $25 and virtual access free.
Next week PulseAI will run a session focused on cybersecurity at The Volstead on East Sixth Street, limiting capacity to 180 to keep conversations manageable.
Developers in the neighborhood's co-working spaces have started using the tool to organize smaller follow-ups at nearby spots like the Google Fiber Space on Cesar Chavez.
City data from 2025 indicated Austin added 14,800 tech jobs, yet many new hires reported difficulty finding peers outside their own companies.
Registration for the July 18 cybersecurity event opens today on the PulseAI site, with priority given to those who complete a five-question profile in advance.
Users who attend at least two sessions this month receive a free pass to the August gathering scheduled at the Domain Northside conference room.
