The Texas Longhorns baseball team beat Baylor 7-4 on July 9 at Disch-Falk Field on the University of Texas campus.
That result came during a stretch when several college programs across the country shift focus from spring schedules to summer workouts ahead of the August reporting dates set by the NCAA. Coaches use these weeks to test lineups and evaluate transfers who joined after the spring portal window closed in May.
Players and staff from the Longhorns program moved between sessions at Disch-Falk Field and the adjacent practice fields along 21st Street. Local supporters parked near the intersection with Speedway and walked to the gates, while some families met at nearby spots on Guadalupe Street after the final out.
Attendance at the July 9 game reached 3,850, according to figures released by the UT athletics department. That number sits above the 2,900 fans recorded for the comparable midweek contest on July 10 last year.
In the second game of the week, the Longhorns fell 5-2 to Texas State on July 10 at the same venue. Pitching staff allowed eight hits and committed two errors in the sixth inning that opened the door for the Bobcats. Outfielder Marcus Rivera went 2-for-4 with a double in that contest.
These outcomes leave the Longhorns at 12-7 in their summer slate. The squad next travels to face Rice on July 15 in Houston before returning for a three-game set at home starting July 18.
Season tickets for the remaining home dates go on sale July 12 through the UT athletics ticket office located at the corner of 23rd Street and San Jacinto Boulevard. Single-game prices start at $12 for general admission seating.
Supporters can also follow updated rosters and injury reports on the official athletics site or by visiting the information board outside the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on campus, where additional training updates are posted each morning.
